About Oakwood
Part of the Enfield borough in north London, Oakwood is a residential neighbourhood with a history reaching back to at least the 1800s, and it falls within postcodes including EN2, N11 and N14. The area takes its name from the large green space known as Oakwood Park, purchased by Southgate Council in 1927, while the local London Underground station – opened in 1933 and now a Grade II* listed building – helped drive the wave of property development that followed. Oakwood was once the site of a hunting ground with four lodges, although South Lodge was demolished in 1935. Surrounding districts include Cockfosters, Enfield, Grange Park, Highlands Village and Southgate.
Stock here covers new-build flats, basement flats, detached properties, retirement homes, studio apartments, listed property and conventional houses. Timelines for selling vary – the listed status of certain homes, the lease length on flats, the chain on family sales and the condition of older stock all play a part, and listed properties in particular can attract a smaller pool of buyers and longer waits on the open market.
Founded in 2003, LDN Properties is a registered member of The Property Ombudsman (membership D12463). We make direct purchases in Oakwood and throughout the rest of the Enfield borough, with no fees, no commission and no chain attached on our side. Houses, flats, retirement homes, studios and listed properties are all within scope, regardless of tenure, age, condition or any legal or financial complications attached.
